How to Hold a Netbook - LS1's 2019 Manaiakalani Film

How do children hold their netbooks here at Panmure Bridge School and within the Manaiakalani Cluster as a whole? Watch this tutorial to find out.

LS1 contributes "How to Hold a Netbook" as one of three submissions to the 2019 Manaiakalani Film Festival.

In 2019 our learners have again been learning about satire. We have taken the famous How to Dad's videos as inspiration for a way to look into our own learning and teaching practises as learners and teachers. We considered our practises to find a simplistic interpretation, then expressed that interpretation in a comedic way.

A small group was asked to research, write, storyboard, and film the movies this year. They had support from Mr Wong who also did much of the editing.

  1. Hi LS1 I liked that you guys taught us how to hold a device when you are walking or going somewhere. Do you hold your device like that in class? Well I do.

    1. Hello Rosalili. The rule In LS1 is to hold the netbook in the "standard netbook hold", which was shown at the beginning of the ad.

  3. Hi Learning Space 1,
I enjoyed watching your 3 part "How To" films, although I found that How To Hold A Netbook was my favourite. The acting in this film made it so much better and so much funnier. This along with How To Learn were my favourite movies in the whole festival! I hope that you make a movie just as funny next year.

I love the way that you guys are showing us of how to take care of our netbook. I really hope that you guys are looking after your netbook or taking care of them by holding them probably not playing with them.

    1. Malo e lelei, Rosaleen. This ad is making fun of the bad ways to hold a netbook. In LS1, the rule is to hold the netbook in the "standard netbook hold", which was shown at the beginning of the ad. That hold provides maximum stability in all directions, so it is unlikely to drop.
