Inquiry
LI: to identify characteristics of a health/non healthy relationship
In Term 1 for Inquiry we were learning what a healthy/non healthy relationship is, and what good/bad teamwork is. So for our DLO we first wrote on two padlets.
The first padlet was Types of Relationships. Our categories were Home, School, and Community. For example at home you have a relationship with your parents. A relationship at school could be with your friends. A relationship you could have in the community could be a librarian. But it always doesn't have to be a person. For example at home you could have a relationship with an object that you really admire, and if it were to be stolen, or lost you would be really sad.
The second padlet was how relationships can change. For example your Dad leaves to another country because of work. That changes the relationship but still doesn't end it.
Then we made we made a Body Outline and for that we had to write about what are the negative emotions, and actions a bad teammate would do. We also had to write what positive emotions, and actions a good teammate would do.
Next we did a T - Chart that has the things needed in a Good and Bad Team. We then had to rank what the number one thing is needed in a good and team, then rank it down.
Duffy Theatre
LI: to learn about reading
Duffy Theatre have performed a play for Panmure Bridge School. It was about how Duffy got sucked into the game. It was really bizarre, funny, and great. The characters were: Duffy, Sam (Duffys Cousin), Sams Mum, Dismantler (in the game), Puzzler (in the game).
Firstly Duffy went over to Sams house and got sucked into the game by wearing magical glasses. He got sucked into the game Magic Bricks. It was like Jumanji, so Duffy only had a limited amount of time to get out or he would get trapped into the game forever. They find out that their grandmother was the creator of the game, and learned the algorithm to get out.

Taniwha
In Ki O rahi there are 2 teams, Kioma and Taniwha. The Taniwha, in the story, tries to attack Rahi. The Taniwha's main goal is to stand in te roto, and throw the ki at the tupu. One hit = 1 Point. The boundries for Taniwha are Pa whero, Te ara and te ao when trying to score.
Kioma
The second Team In Ki O Rahi is Kioma. Kioma's goal is to touch as many po as possible or wanted with the ki and avoid getting ripped once or twice. The Boundries for Kioma are Te roto, Te ara and Pawhero. After touching one or more po, they have to run into te roto and score a try in pa whero. If A Kioma Member touches a Po but the ball drops or the person is ripped, then the score is back to 0. If a Kioma Member touches 2 Po and run into te roto and score in pa whero, without being ripped they get the points.
Kaitiaki
2 Members of Kioma Team are Kaitiaki. In the story of Ki O Rahi, the Kaitiaki is an eagle and it protects the rock/tupu. In the game, the kaitiaki do the same and protect the tupu. They are the only roles in the entire game that can go in pawhero. They have to prevent Taniwha from hitting the tupu with the ki. They are not allowed to touch the tupu while guarding.

We first got sorted into groups and then started our lesson. We first did a starfish in the water, and then we had to flip and do it looking up. We then did the dolphin dive. We had to dive in and try to touch the floor, and then go back up and repeat it. After we did starfishes and put a fist up and shouted "Help!". Next we did a skill which was to do a starfish, then tuck our knees in and try to get our face in the water. Lastly we had to high five our teacher and try to do a skill we knew how to do.

We had to brainstorm topics and mine was "Longer Recess or Lunchtime". In the persuasive speech plan we had to write a rhetorical question, then state our opinion, we then had to list some facts, and say the solution to the problem.

Infographic
LI: to make an Infographic on Reading
In Term 1 we were learning about Infographics. Infographics are like a poster mainly only having pictures. The pictures in a Infographic have to explain what you are talking about, and there should also be a little bit of writing just to let the people understand it more. So we made an Infographic about reading. The questions we had to answer in the Infographic is: What is Reading? Why do we read? What reader are we? What helps us read?
Graphs
LI: to display data on a graph
In Term 1 we started learning about graphs. A graph is something that shows data in an organised way. For this activity we made graphs about LS1. We had to make six graphs. Every group had the same data. The graphs we made were: who has pets, who has what amount of siblings, favourite subject, holiday activities, birthdays, and languages. We made one of them as a group then make one ourselves. The graphs had to be made digitally and some handmade.

Ratio word problem | Maths
LI: to manage finances and profit by creating with maths.
Managing finances and profit is what we are learning and doing for this term. We are learning about how to use and make money by spending it wisely. We all have bank accounts and we have a opening balance. Each person gets a 50 dollar opening balance. We have commissions to complete that are different levels that earn us different amount of money if finished. we are doing a quiz about ratio word problems.
Rube Goldberg Machine
LI: to tmake a Rube Goldberg machine with all the six simple machines.
We had to try make a Rube Goldberg machine with the simple six machines. A Rube Goldberg machine is a complicated machine to do a simple thing. It took us 2 tries to get every thing working. I was the person working with the wheel and axle. We used a incline plain, wheel and axle and a lever. To create our machine we used a chair and some wood to make the incline plane. We used a car and a book to start our machine. Then someone tips the book, the book hits the car and the car comes down the incline plain, as soon as it gets to the bottom it's going to the person at the bottom of a table. The person at the bottom of the table is going to roll the ball in his hand. The ball then rolls and hits the person standing in front of the table. The person in front of the table is going to roll the basketball then the basketball comes down hits the person next to him. Then when the basketball hit the person next to him, the person next to him slides under the table and hits the person that is at the finish. The person at the finish is going to roll the ball down the incline plain and the ball hits the cup with the dice in it.
The thing I found challenging was trying to get everything working by putting people in the right order. I would change people being under the table because they could hit their head when one little mistake happens.
