Run Jump Throw/ Kiwisport

Today Room 9 went to our session of Run Jump Throw. That is our Kiwisport for now. Today we practiced our jumps and long jump. For our warm up game we played stuck in the mud. For stuck in the mud we had to walk for our first round, for the second round we had to jump and for the last round we had to skip. After stuck in the mud we started to practiced our long jump. The four main steps for long jump are bend your knees, swinging arms, look up and land on two feet. After we did that we played a game of Rock Paper Scissors. We had to jump on the pads and when the two people are on one pad next to each other they have a round of Rock Paper Scissors. The winner carries on jumping to the other pads and the loser goes to the back of their team line. At the end my team maneged to win.

Kiwican

Today Room 9 went to Kiwican. We played this game where you had get into a circle and stand shoulder to shoulder. We also had to put our hands behind our back. We had to pass Mrs Latoya's keys around the circle while someone has to stand in the middle and try and guess who has the keys. We had a fun time at Kiwican.

Asthma foundation

On Tuesday all of the classes except for room 5 and 6 came into the hall for the Asthma foundation. Chris told us all about Asthma and how dangerous it is. If someone has Asthma sometimes it is hard for them to breathe. Some things like smoke can set off someones Asthma. Room 9's favourite part was when Sailor the Pufferfish started dancing. It was a fun way to start the day.

Making ANZAC biscuits

Last week our class made Anzac biscuits. We were first separated into 4 groups. On the board were jobs we had in our group. We had different measuring cups and bowls that were given to us. We had all of our ingredients ready and added them into the bowl. Once the wet ingredients were mixed we had to make the mixture into shape. Now that we had our biscuits on the tray we baked them in the oven for 15 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius. After kiwi can we had a chance to let them cool down and cut the big biscuits into small ones. Mr Wong served them on a plate and we all had 2 biscuits each. Room 9 enjoyed making Anzac biscuits.

Kiwi Can W6 T2

Last week we had our kiwi can session outside the theatre. We had learnt about teamwork and what happens if we don't do teamwork. We also played a game about teamwork. We were separated into 4 teams. Our teams had to make a nest out of newspaper and tape. Our nest had to stand up by itself without our team members holding it. Mr M  had to lay it on the floor and drop an egg inside. Our teams had hoped that the egg didn't crack. If it did crack they had to be eliminated. I think that our class learnt a lot about teamwork.
